Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains a major spoiler for this episode!
Synopsis: A science fiction series based on Michael Marshall Smith’s 2007 novel The Intruders where members of a secret society seek immortality at the expense of others whose bodies they enter.
Kitty Cameo: In the first episode a little girl named Maddie (Millie Brown) celebrates her ninth birthday and is visited by one of the mysterious entities. She then sometimes takes on the personality of someone named Marcus. In one scene she is drawing a bath when a large gray Maine Coon cat jumps up nearby. Maddie greets the cat, calling him by his name, Loopy, and petting him kindly.
Kitty Carnage Warning! In the next instance Marcus takes over and grabs Loopy, dunking him into the bathtub and drowning him. Maddie is then reduced to tears with what she has done. We should note that the cat isn’t ever actually shown being dunked, as the tub is full of suds, so obviously the cat actor playing Loopy came to no harm making this scene.
Final Mewsings: Is it any wonder that cats hate taking baths?
