Synopsis: Russell (David Spade) comes back from a vacation cruise with some news he’s not thrilled to share … he drunkenly managed to get married to Liz (Wendi McLendon-Covey). Meanwhile Audrey (Megyn Price) tries to encourage Jeff (Patrick Warburton) to talk dirty to her in the bedroom.
Cat Cattle Call: Liz owns seven cats which are a running joke throughout the episode. The first evidence of them is when Liz hangs a life-sized sexy portrait in Russell’s office of her with four of her cats.
There are a couple of scenes in Liz’s apartment where many of the cats can be seen. First when Russell comes over to try to get out of the marriage. Liz scolds him that he’s late for dinner and she and the “children” have had to start without him. He sees several cats on the table eating from a plate of food.
After losing his right to argue that their marriage has not been consumated during the previously mentioned visit, Russell returns wearing a sleep mask and doesn’t notice that Liz is packing up her apartment. Several of her cats are already in their carriers and a Siamese is sitting on top of a cat tree nearby.
Russell tries to argue when he realizes Liz is moving her things to his place. But in the next scene Jeff is waiting for the elevator when the doors open revealing Russell with Liz’s things, including cats in carriers and a calico in his arms.
Some of the credited cat actor teams are Dexter (the orange tabby), Miss Kitty (grey tabby), Roscoe (brown tabby) and Salem (black), all of whom were trained by Claire Doré with Performing Animal Troupe. The calico was likely played by one of the Smores team while the Siamese may have been portrayed by one of the Tonka team. The company claims on their site that they are well prepared for crazy cat lady scenes like the ones including Liz in this series.
Final Mewsings: One should only marry those who are willing to adopt their “kids.”
