Synopsis: A spoiled heiress named Ellie Andrews (Claudette Colbert), angry over her father’s insistance that she annull a secret marriage, decides to run away. Eventually she bumps into a newspaper reporter named Peter Warne (Clark Gable) who, sensing a story, threatens to spill the beans on her whereabouts unless she allows him to accompanying her on her travels with the hope of publishing a story. Eventually the two fall in love, but only after several misadventures, including a memorable night in a motel room.
Kitty Cameo: At the end of the film when Peter and Ellie end up in a motel similar to the one where they previously spent the night together. The husband (Harry Holman) and wife (Maidel Turner) owner of the place stand and ponder the relationship of the couple and their request for a rope, a blanket and a toy trumpet. All throughout their conversation the wife is holding a cat.
