Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains spoilers for this episode!
Synopsis: House (Hugh Laurie) is skeptical when a nursing home nurse displays strange symptoms and states she’s going to die because the home’s resident cat can predict death.
Featured Feline: The nurse whose name is Morgan (Judy Greer) piques House’s interest when she claims the gray shorthaired cat named Debbie can predict Death, as was reported on a news story.
Much to his colleagues’ dismay, House seems determined to prove the theory of the Death Cat wrong, going so far as to bring the cat into the coma patients’ room and waiting until she “picks” someone.
At first House uses the fact the coma guy does not die to convince Morgan she is wrong.
When the coma guy does die, House then tries to foist the cat upon the sick kids in the ward, but Dr. Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard) puts a stop to it.
House also finds fuel in Dr. Kutner’s (Kal Penn) superstitions, taunting him about the Death Cat and other issues.
Eventually House pieces together that Debbie was seeking the warmth of the electric blankets on the patients when she sits on the computer in his office.
In the end Debbie is seen looking at Dr. Taub (Peter Jacobson) who has just had a crushing blow to his ego.
Final Mewsings: It’s good to know that cats are not always the harbingers of death.
