Crown International Pictures
Starring: Jayne Mansfield, Dorothy Keller, Fabian Dean, Martin Horsey
Directed by: Matt Cimber
Synopsis: Jayne Mansfield (in her final screen appearance) plays three incarnations of the same woman who deals with being single in a big city in different ways, going from a wide-eyed innocent child looking for love to a prostitute. The film, which was directed by her third husband Matt Cimber, is a somewhat sad last film for Mansfield. Since the material is based on a play the idea and story aren’t particularly bad but the production values are pretty low and unfortunately it shows.
Purr Blur: In the first segment Jayne (as Johnnie) is sitting on the fire escape with Frankie (Martin Horsey) and she notices the neighbor’s cat, Blackie, calling to it. We see Blackie (which is actually a tuxedo cat) briefly by a bowl of food in a corner by the fence, but he runs away pretty quickly.
Final Mewsings: Even Blackie didn’t want to be in this movie.
