The Angel Wore Red (1960)

Directed by: Nunnally Johnson

Synopsis: The escalation of the Spanish Civil War finds priest Father Arturo Carrera (Dirk Bogarde) a wanted man with an entertainer named Soledad (Ava Gardner) trying to protect him.

Purr Blur: After meeting in a club where she works, Soledad helps Father Arturo to escape through a back door. As they approach a street a squadron of soldiers marches toward them. To one side a tabby cat can barely be seen standing.

The cat is so still in this shot it almost seems unreal. But moments later after the soldiers pass, Soledad and Father Arturo emerge onto the street. As they run away, the cat can now just barely be seen walking along the street on the other side in the dark.
