Directed by: Nikita Mikhalkov
Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: Comdiv Sergei Petrovich Kotov (Nikita Mikhalkov) is a hero of the Red Army who is living in an artist’s community with his family during Stalin’s Great Purge.
Kitty Cameo: Near the beginning of the film a man is hurrying to the house to rouse Comdiv Kotov to come to his aid. As he runs around the building a white cat with calico markings is sitting in a window.
The man even bangs on the glass of the window right in front of the cat but the animal does not budge.
Eventually a resident named Mokhova (Svetlana Kryuchkova) comes to the window to talk to the man. The cat remains sitting beside her. Unfortunately the cat is never seen again.
Final Mewsings: Cats should stick around more in movies!
