Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains spoilers for this episode!
Synopsis: Carol is joined for sketches and songs by guest stars Michele Lee and Jack Weston.
Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): The final sketch of the show is about a drunken character named Jane who is sitting outside on a stoop. After conversing with a young woman (Vicki Lawrence) and her boyfriend (Harvey Korman), Jane finds herself alone again, angry with men in general. A ginger tabby cat then approaches her.
The cat stops at her feet, nibbling at something on the ground (likely the cat actor’s food mark). Jane pets the cat and says, “I don’t care if you are hungry.”
Jane relents and picks up the cat saying, “Just this one time, okay? But I don’t want you to get the feeling that this is going to be any kind of permanent relationship. You understand?”
She then asks, “Mind if I call you Ralph?” (the name of her former boyfriend.)
Jane carries the cat up the stairs and says she will try to scrounge up something for him.
It’s not clear if this is cat actor Orangey, as the cat and trainer were not credited for this role.
Final Mewsings: Fed up with men? Give cat relationships a try!
