Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains spoilers for this episode!
Synopsis: Detective Frank Drebin (Leslie Nielson) goes undercover as a locksmith to bring down gangsters who are extorting money from local businesses.
Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): The head of the crime organization is Dutch (Al Ruscio) who, in true Bond fashion, is holding a longhair white cat on his lap during his scenes. Further parodying Blofeld, we do not see Dutch’s face at first.
In fact he makes an extreme effort to lower his face into the frame at the end of his first scene.
The cat is present on Dutch’s desk during a phone call in which Drebin gets a little too excited.
When Drebin confronts Dutch in his office, Dutch is again holding the cat. In a brilliantly hilarious moment, Dutch casually puts the cat into a desk drawer and shuts it! When he opens another drawer, there is a small dog inside!
Final Mewsings: Villain sidekick jobs keep cats gainfully employed.
Many thanks to Mark Murton for letting us know about the cat in this episode!
