Cat Out of the Bag Alert!  This review contains spoilers for this film!

Synopsis: Robert Clayton Dean (Will Smith) is a successful lawyer who accidentally finds himself entangled in a web of covert surveillance by a ruthless political bigwig named Reynolds (Jon Voight) who uses his position in the National Security Agency to protect himself from potential criminal prosecution.  Without anywhere else to turn, Dean must rely on the know-how of a reclusive former NSA operative known as Brill (Gene Hackman.)

Featured Feline: When Brill takes Dean to his surveillance-impervious stronghold, an orange and white cat follows them once they have entered the building.  This is Brill’s cat, whom he later explains is named Babe.  When the stronghold is penetrated by NSA agents, Brill jumps into his getaway mode, telling Dean to “get the cat.”  The cat tags along with them throughout the film and is featured in a very cute way at the end as well.

Purr Blur: There is also one moment during the footchase between conservationist Daniel Zavitz (Jason Lee) and the NSA in which Zavitz runs into the back of a restaurant.  A cat darts across the screen quickly with a yowl.

Final Mewsings: It’s definitely a good idea to take the cat with you before blowing up the building.
