Synopsis: The Baron de Sigognac (Pierre Blanchar), a nobleman who has fallen upon hard times, joins a group of travelling performers and becomes Captain Fracasse, all for the love of a beautiful woman (Lien Deyers).

Kitty Cameo: At the beginning of the film, the Baron is sitting alone at home. A tabby cat rubs against his leg.

Apart from his servant, the only companions of the Baron are this cat and a dog. The animals follow him back into his empty castle after the acting troupe leaves.

The Baron calls for his man and announces he is going to follow the troupe after all. The cat and dog give him a look as if to say, “What about us?”
