Original Title: The Personal History, Adventures, Experience, & Observation of David Copperfield the Younger
Directed by: George Cukor
Synopsis: Adaptation of the Charles Dickens’ novel with an all-star cast finds young David Copperfield (Freddie Bartholomew) facing adversity as a youth as well as meeting a bevy of unique characters.
Purr Blur: David ends up at the home of his Aunt Betsey (Edna May Oliver) who is easily ruffled when things don’t suit her sensibilities. She enters a room where a tabby cat is sitting on a chair. David approaches the already frustrated Betsey as she grabs the chair and shakes it, scaring the cat with a loud “Scat!”
