Keep it Up Downstairs (1976)

by Linda Kay

Directed by: Robert Young

Synopsis: Bawdy comedy abounds in Cockshute Towers where the residents, staff and guests are obsessed with sex. But their fun time may be hindered if the bankrupt manor doesn’t find some means to keep up operations.

Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): The residents of the household include a pet dog (played by Heidi) and a white cat (uncredited). In one scene the family is gathered to eat but are actually being “serviced” by the staff beneath the large dining table. The dog spots the cat sitting in a chair nearby and pulls away the table when giving chase, revealing the escapades going on underneath.

Later Snotty Shuttleworth (William Rushton) is sneaking around the halls at night. He passes a suit of armor and hear’s a cat meow. Lifting up the visor he is surprised to see the cat looking out at him.

Moments later the dog chases the cat down the hallway, managing to remove a woman’s nightgown in the process.

Final Mewsings: Even a tomcat in heat is not as randy as these people!
