Original Air Date: October 9, 1963
Starring: Patty Duke, William Schallert, Jean Byron, Ilka Chase
Directed by: William Asher
Synopsis: Domineering Aunt Pauline (Ilka Chase) comes to visit and alienates everyone with her bossy behavior, even pushing the demure Cathy (Patty Duke) too far when she starts to criticize her father Kenneth’s child-rearing decisions.
Featured Feline: Aunt Pauline makes a grand appearance on the Lane’s doorstep, along with all of her luggage. She opens one case and introduces the family to her pet Siamese cat Dindy. This seems to upset the household, probably because they are dog owners (their dog, Tiger, is later seen outside.)
After Cathy boldly tells Aunt Pauline what everyone really thinks of her, Aunt Pauline goes to a hotel. She is sitting alone in the room with Dindy when Cathy comes to apologize.
Final Mewsings: Cats make good house guests (if they aren’t brought by obnoxious owners.)
