Synopsis: Presented as a trailer for a forthcoming film, this video combines a performance of the song with inserts of the members of the Australian 4-piece band donning comedy superhero costumes to perform (with varying levels of success) minor acts of heroism — preventing graffiti, picking up litter, helping an old lady across the road, and finding a lost cat — before indulging in more familiar superhero antics later in the video.
Kitty Cameo: The band’s drummer Ashton Irwin’s superhero alias is SmAsh! (complete with fake muscles and underpants on the outside of his costume) and in this guise he spots a poster on a telegraph pole concerning a “LOST CAT.”
He leaps into action and soon locates the longhair tabby cat behind an oil drum.
As he tries to gather the kitty up it runs off and he gives chase.
Eventually the video cuts back to SmAsh! triumphantly lifting the cat into the air (right beside the same oil drum where he first found / lost it!).
A final insert shows him carrying kitty to safety.
Final Mewsings: Anyone who finds a missing cat is a superhero.
