Synopsis: Inspired by the character of Dr. Mabuse created by Norbert Jacques. Lieutenant Claus Hartman (Jan Niklas) investigates a bizarre series of inexplicable suicides which he suspects are somehow connected to a series of travel videos featuring the face of Sonja Vogler (Jennifer Beals) and the mysterious Doctor Heinrich Marsfeldt (Alan Bates).

Kitty Cameo: Sonja owns a silver Persian cat who is first seen briefly in her apartment.

In a later scene when Claus is at her place asking questions, Sonja enters the room carrying the cat.

She tosses the cat on the sofa and sits herself, petting the longhair beauty for a moment before the cat decides he’s had enough of show business and leaves the film for good.

Final Mewsings: Cats are not so easily manipulated.
