Buongiorno, notte (2003)

by Linda Kay

English Title: Good Morning, Night

Directed by: Marco Bellocchio

Synopsis: The true life story of the abduction of Italian prime minister Aldo Moro (Roberto Herlitzka) as seen from the viewpoint of one of his kidnappers.

Kitty Cameo: At the beginning of the film, Chiara (Maya Sansa) and Mariano (Luigi Lo Cascio) are being shown an apartment by a real estate agent. As they walk through the apartment, the agent opens a door to the private garden and a black cat comes in. “Hi kitty! There is a nice cat, too,” the agent explains.

The cat is seen again moments later eating a tidbit from the floor (undoubtedly left by the trainer). The agent continues the tour, again referencing the nice cat.

The cat is not seen again, although at one point one of the kidnappers becomes concerned for the canaries they have in a cage outside, insisting there is a cat on the cage, although it cannot be seen.
