by Linda Kay
Also Known As: Russ Meyer’s Fanny Hill
Directed by: Russ Meyer, Albert Zugsmith
Synopsis: Bawdy comedic adaptation of the racy novel by John Cleland finds wide-eyed, young Fanny Hill (Letícia Román) thrust upon the wild world after her parents die. She is taken in by Mrs. Brown (Miriam Hopkins) who, unbeknownst to the innocent Fanny, is the madame of a brothel.
Purr Blur: One morning Fanny awakens Mrs. Brown with the news that a gentleman has arrived. Fanny hears snoring coming from behind Mrs. Brown’s bed curtains and is startled, but the madame quickly covers the truth by noting that the cat has sneaked into bed with her. She closes the curtains and returns with a tabby cat whom she tosses from the bed, telling him or her to “find yourself a mouse!”

Final Mewsings: You would think a cat would be more welcome in a cat house.
