Original Title: La polizia brancola nel buio

Synopsis: Journalist Giorgio D’Amato (Joseph Arkim) searches for his missing friend Enrichetta Blond (Margaret Rose Keil) who has disappeared from a small hotel in the midst of a serial killer’s spree.

Kitty Cameo: When Enrichetta is stranded at the cheap inn with no mechanic available at night she is forced to rent a room. As she calls Giorgio on the phone to come rescue her, the locals eye her in the usual lecherous way, most notably the innkeeper’s slow son who continuously cradles a calico tabby cat during this scene.

He even follows her into the hallway with said cat. His mother explains that he has been that way since birth.

Purr Blur: When Giorgio arrives the next morning Enrichetta is nowhere to be found. However he spots a tell-tale bottle near a white cat with black markings outside the inn which lets him know she has been there.

A cat statue also appears in one scene behind the butler Alberto (Francisco Cortéz).

Final Mewsings: Are they insinuating there is something wrong with wanting to hold a cat all the time?
