Synopsis: Hard-pressed private detective Jim Rockford (James Garner) hooks up with three unlicensed P.I.s — angry part-time shoe salesman Vern St. Cloud (Simon Oakland); streetwise Billy Merihew (Cleavon Little); and mandatorily expendable Marvin V. Potemkin (Val Bisoglio) — to discover the who and why behind the current rash of scams targeting the city’s gumshoe workforce.
Kitty Cameo: In his search for Susan Hanrahan (Katharine Charles), who is involved in the ongoing cons, Jim peers through her apartment window to spy her glum longhair calico cat lying on the top of a sofa.

Purr Blur: Moments before, Jim visited a local veterinarian and learned that Susan had her cat neutered recently. A woman with a cat in a carrier can be seen in the background.

Final Mewsings: You might be a little glum, too, if you’d just been neutered.
