The Smashing Machine (2002)

by Linda Kay

Directed by: John Hyams

Synopsis: This documentary follows the life and career of mixed martial arts wrestler Mark Kerr and the notable ups and downs in both his personal life and career.

Purr Blur: One segment of the documentary focuses on fellow wrestler and friend of Kerr, Mark Coleman, seen at home with his wife and children. In a quick shot we also see an adorable little blue kitten peeking out from behind some toys. The cat’s tail is also spotted in another shot. Oddly enough we never see any footage of Kerr’s girlfriend’s cat Sneakers.

Final Mewsings: Wrestlers may be brutal in the ring but to kittens and children they are gentle giants.
