Le Ball and Chain Gang (1968)

by Linda Kay

Directed by: Gerry Chiniquy

Synopsis: Edna (June Foray) and Charlie (Hal Smith) are a constantly bickering couple who are barely disturbed by Inspector Clouseau’s (voiced by Pat Harrington Jr.) attempts to arrest them.

Cartoon Cat: Each of the Inspector’s attempts to enter the home fail, but he notices that the back door opens when a gray and white cat meows, prompting Charlie to place a bowl of cat food outside. This doesn’t go as well for the Inspector when he dresses as a cat and tries this a moment later. His meows go unheeded by the couple but attract a pack of dogs who chase him down.
