Directed by: Bruce Beresford
Synopsis: Play-based savage sports satire set in the world of Australian Rules Football. When a struggling side buy a talented young player, Geoff Hayward (John Howard), for a record sum frictions quickly develop, both on and off the field.
Kitty Cameo: On the day of Geoff’s first game his girlfriend Susy (Maggie Doyle) is at home with their cream tabby cat.

She goes to switch on the TV to watch the game as the cat watches her.

After being unexpectedly subbed off, an unhappy Geoff returns home that evening and picks up the cat for a consoling cuddle.

Purr Blur: Later, the club’s manager Laurie Holden (Jack Thompson) goes to confront Geoff who is working on his motorbike. As Geoff goes to exchange words with him a random tuxedo cat wanders across behind him towards the bike.

Final Mewsings: If we paid cats what they were worth they would be rich!
