Synopsis: To protect his murderous son Lon (Robert F. Lyons) from a richly deserved conviction, indisputably sweaty lumberjack George David Owens (R.G. Armstrong), abetted by his other habitual criminal son Jack (Robert Doyle), threatens jury member and responsible citizen Luis Nieves (Mario Alcalde) with the mutilation (and worse) of his pregnant wife Anita (Pilar Seurat). But, as one would expect, determined F.B.I. Inspector Lewis Erskine (Efrem Zimbalist Jr.) and his dependable associate, Special Agent Tom Colby (William Reynolds), are on the scene to prevent the travesty of justice.
Kitty Cameo: Luis hurries into the cabin to answer the phone, revealing his brown tabby cat waiting just inside the kitchen door.
During the phone conversation, Anita picks up the cat and pets his furry little head before leaving the room.
Later the cat jumps (i.e. is catapulted) onto the kitchen countertop to investigate a newly roasted chicken, but Anita whisks him gently off the counter and tosses him out of the kitchen before he can sample a morsel.
Final Mewsings: With these kind of plots, it’s a pleasant surprise when the violence doesn’t extend to the family cat.
