Synopsis: Set in London during World War II, Maurice Bendrix (Van Johnson) has an affair with married woman Sarah Miles (Deborah Kerr).  When she ends the affair abruptly, a broken-hearted Maurice sets out to find out why.

Purr Blur: When Sarah’s husband Henry (Peter Cushing) is informed that Sarah may be having an affair he asks Maurice to help him by consulting with a private detective (John Mills).  The detective and Maurice stake out a residence where Sarah has been seen coming and going.  When Sarah enters the building, Maurice crosses the street to check to see which doorbell she rang.  As he crosses the road a cat can be seen sitting in front of one of the neighboring houses.
