Something to Shout About poster

Columbia Pictures Corporation
Starring:
Don Ameche, Janet Blair, Jack Oakie
Directed by: Gregory Ratoff

Synopsis: A former chorus girl (Cobina Wright) strikes it rich from a divorce and hires a down and out producer (William Gaxton) to arrange a show featuring her as the star even though she has no discernable talent.  Meanwhile reporter Ken Douglas (Don Ameche) meets an aspiring songwriter named Jeanie Maxwell (Janet Blair) who has talent to spare.

Purr Blur: Ken convinces Jeanie to stay in New York longer and takes her to his boarding house to get her a room.  As they enter the front door of the building a white cat is seen running down the stairs quickly.  Right behind him comes a huge crowd of dogs (the dogs and cat are shot in separate takes).  The dogs are actually part of the vaudeville dog troop The Bricklayers, who perform later in the movie.

Final Mewsings: Cats should be careful about entering boarding houses which allow dog acts.
