Synopsis: Umberto Domenico Ferrari (Carlo Battisti) is a lonely pensioner who is in debt and facing eviction. His only friends are his dog Flike and Maria (Maria Pia Casilio) the maid of his landlady.
Purr Blurs: In one scene Maria wakes up in the morning and is lying on her bed. She looks up through the glass ceiling and sees a gray and white cat walking across the panes above her.
Moments later Maria goes to the kitchen and looks out the window. She sees another cat walking across the roof of the neighboring building.
Toward the end of the film Umberto is taking his dog Flike down a street to see some people who board dogs. In the doorway nearby it appears there is another gray and white cat sitting. Some dogs run out into the street and one of the dogs approaches the cat but then turns and runs away. The cat doesn’t move an inch.
When Umberto leaves, the cat is no longer sitting in the doorway but there is something in the window above where the cat was sitting previously which could possibly be the same cat.
Final Mewsings: Even in a film about a dog, cats will make their presence known.
