Synopsis: Michael Lanyard, aka The Lone Wolf (Warren William) is a former jewel thief who finds himself solving crimes instead of committing them.  In this episode of the film series, the Lone Wolf bets the police he can stay out of trouble for 24 hours, which of course means he gets into trouble right after making the bet.

Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): The film begins in a jewelry store where two clerks are putting away some valuable pieces.  The first clerk (Corbet Morris) starts to pick up a pearl necklace when the phone rings.  He sets it down but the necklace slips off the velvet and drops onto the neck of a black cat passing by.  The cat then runs out the front door.  When the jeweler realizes the necklace is gone he thinks it has been stolen and calls the police.

The cat runs down the street wearing the necklace and is spotted by Lone Wolf and his companion Jamison (Eric Blore).  They see the necklace and immediately start to try to call the cat to them.

The cat runs away down the street and they follow, continuously calling and making odd noises.

The cat darts into the front doorway of a bank and climbs up and up, in through a small opening.  Lone Wolf and Jamison follow the cat when an alarm is triggered and bars come down, trapping the men.

The police are at the jewelry store and leave to go to the bank.  When they arrive they assume Lone Wolf and Jamison were trying to rob the bank.  Lone Wolf starts to explain about the cat and the necklace but realize pretty quickly how strange it sounds.  Fortunately the cat then reappears, still wearing the necklace.

A policeman gets the cat down and hands it to the jewelry store owner, who says it is the store’s cat.

Final Mewsings: Cat burglars don’t want to share their loot with anyone!
