Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: Nonnie Parker (Reese Witherspoon) has to travel across the Kalahari with city kid Harry Winslow (Ethan Embry) and a bushman named Xhabbo (Sarel Bok) as their guide after their families are killed by a gang of poachers.
Kitty Cameo: At the beginning of the film a housekeeper named Koba (Bertha Msora) is walking with a tray toward a pair of outside tables. A long-haired tuxedo cat is sitting on one of the tables.
Suddenly an explosion nearby disrupts the serenity. The cat takes off running as Koba screams.
Later the cat is seen sitting next to a dish of cat food on the ground. The cat runs away as the family dog appears and starts eating from the dish, which Nonnie moves to the table. This is all a set up so that Harry eats the cat food thinking it is paté.
Final Mewsings: Cats shouldn’t have to give up their dinner to dogs or snobby kids.
Many thanks to Nick Wale for letting us know about the cat in this film.
