Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: A remake of the 1956 film. Ellen Carson (Sean Young) is convinced the death of her twin sister was not suicide and tries to find the truth at the same time she is falling in love with a charming young man named Jay (Matt Dillon).
Kitty Cameo: Ellen owns a black cat named Pepe who is seen in several scenes, first sitting beside her as she pulls out a box of family photos and cries.
Ellen falls asleep on the couch with Pepe in her arms but she is awakened by the doorbell.
After this Pepe is only seen a few times, once sitting in the foreground with Ellen and Jay in bed behind.
Pepe is barely seen running off the bed as Jay climbs in next to Ellen.
Next he is sitting on the arm of a couch as the couple move into a new apartment.
The last time Pepe is seen is when Ellen is watching the Hitchcock film Vertigo on television. The cat does not appear again but is mentioned by Jay when Ellen comes home to find him scrubbing the floor. He tells her Pepe peed on the floor again and should be renamed Pee Pee.
Final Mewsings: Did the cat really pee or did Jay kill him?
