Starring: Bear
Directed by: Richard Parry
Synopsis: Brody (Scoot McNairy) and his girlfriend Kerry (Anna Skellern) travel to Dartmoor for a camping trip, accompanied by her cousin Leo (Andrew Hawley) and Brody’s ever-present video camera. Stopping at a Devon pub they hear a local legend of ‘The Huntsman’ said to inhabit a haunted forest and decide to spend the night there. Sexual tension, jealousy and strained relationships soon turn the excursion into a collective paranoia as the trio realise some dark force is at work.
Kitty Cameo: The cat content in this found-footage horror comes right at the start as Brody and Kerry are seen in their London flat. As they talk, Kerry falls onto the bed which is already occupied by their brown tabby cat, Whiskey.
Brody then jumps on top of Kerry, causing Whiskey to make a quick exit.
Whiskey isn’t seen again as the action now moves location but despite this the cat actor is listed first amongst the “Supporting Artists” in the end credits which tell us “Whiskey the cat” was played by “Bear the cat.”
Final Mewsings: If cats must be in horror movies they prefer their scenes to come before the carnage begins.
