Synopsis: A bungling fairy godmother named Murray (Martin Short) tries to grant a wish from a little girl named Anabel (Mara Wilson) but ends up causing more problems than he solves.
Kitty Cameo: In the beginning of the film Anabel’s father, Oliver (Robert Pastorelli) is seen driving a horse-drawn carriage through Central Park. Duchess the horse stops and refusing to go. It turns out there is a black cat standing in front of her.
The cat growls at her and the horse rears and then bolts.
Near the end of the film after Duchess has been turned into a mouse and Oliver into a statue, Murray, Anabel and Anabel’s brother Charlie (Francis Capra) are in Central Park trying to reverse the botched spells before midnight. The clock chimes and nothing seems to happen. Suddenly the black cat reappears and chases Duchess into a dumpster.
The horse-turned-mouse cowers from the cat, which tries to reach inside.
Final Mewsings: Apparently some cats hang around Central Park just to harrass the horses.
