Hal Roach Studios
Starring: Stepin Fetchit, Allen ‘Farina’ Hoskins
Directed by: Robert McGowan
Synopsis: The Gang’s friend Stepin gets a letter from an admirer while Mary Ann enlists Wheezer’s help to relay the ingredients to make taffy from the radio.
Purr Blurs: When Stepin enters his home there is both a gray and white cat and a black cat on his bed in the background.
The gray and white cat cleans itself as Stepin takes some time getting out of his winter wrappings.
The cats are still on the bed when the Gang comes in.
Kitty Cameo: Late in the short the Gang have made a mess of the house trying to pull Mary Ann’s “taffy”. In one shot a tabby cat is backed into a corner with a little of the taffy stuck to one paw.
The cat is trying to figure out how to get out of the corner without getting its paws stuck again. This cat was a regular in the Our Gang shorts released around this time.
Final Mewsings: Cats are not fans of taffy, especially when it’s on the floor.
