Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: Ace Ventura Jr. (Josh Flitter) finds out that he is the spawn of the famous pet detective and sets out to solve the case of a missing panda cub.
Kitty Cameos: When Ace’s Grandpa Ventura (Ralph Waite) arrives he has a one-eyed long-haired ginger cat that enters the house ahead of him. The cat wears a patch over the missing eye. This cat is not featured again, although he does appear in footage that was cut from the final film.
When Ace figures out that famous animals are going missing, he stakes out an appearance by a famous feline named Tabby, a ginger tabby cat. Tabby is being held by a trainer (Karel Wright) who continually says, “Tabby says have a Meowtastic day!”
Despite having Ace on the scene, Tabby is still catnapped.
At the end of the movie the animal kidnapper is revealed and Ace releases all of the animals the kidnapper has stashed away, including Tabby.
There is also a tuxedo cat which has been nabbed.
A behind the scenes documentary on the DVD shows head animal trainer Mark A. Echevarria working with the tuxedo cat in one scene. The kitten seen on the poster for the film was not in the movie.
Final Mewsings: Cat actors don’t have a choice of what films they appear in
