English Title: Adam and Eve
Directed by: Mario Mattoli
This review contains a Slight Kitty Carnage Warning!
Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains a spoiler for this film!
Synopsis: A manicurist named Eva (Isa Barzizza) falls for Adamo (Erminio Macario), the owner of the shop where she works. He in turn tells her stories of love which have taken place in various time periods.
Cat Burglars (Scene Stealers): One of the stories is set in the old American west. Adamo is in a card game with some toughs who keep raising the pot. He keeps adding chips to the table; even a large amount from his top hat which he sets down beside him. After offering all his chips Adamo reaches down and picks up the hat again, only this time it contains four kittens!
He adds the cats to the “kitty.”
Adamo then reveals his cards as five aces.
The cowboy to his right accuses him of cheating and pulls a gun on him. Adamo is quick to excuse himself from the table.
Slight Kitty Carnage Warning! Instead of being excited about the kittens, the cowboy picks each one up in turn and gently tosses them off the table (it appears he throws them onto the chair, where hopefully there was something soft for them to land upon)!
Final Mewsings: Anyone who doesn’t get excited about winning kittens is just plain loco!
Many thanks to Nick Wale for letting us know about the kittens in this film!
