Featured Feline: Emily owns a white Persian cat named Mimi.
When Leonard arrives at Emily’s house, the first thing she does is introduce him to Mimi. She notes how Mimi seems to like him. Mimi is also seen in the room with them.
Some months later Emily is found murdered by her housekeeper Janet (Monica Dolan). Mimi the cat approaches the body of Emily and then climbs on top of it.
As Janet watches in horror, Mimi walks across the floor, tracking blood in her wake. The cat then sits down and licks the blood off its paws.
Later in the story Mimi is found drowned in the backyard pond and Mayhew deduces it was done by Janet, who admits she was appalled by the cat’s aloof actions in the wake of her owner’s murder.
