by Linda Kay
Directed by: Norman Jewison
Synopsis: Dr. Martha Livingston (Jane Fonda) is the court appointed psychiatrist sent to evaluate the mental health of a young nun named Agnes (Meg Tilly) who stands accused of murdering her newborn child, despite the protestations of the Mother Superior, Miriam Ruth (Anne Bancroft).
Purr Blur: Martha owns a longhair brown tabby cat who can barely be seen early in the film when Martha returns home and pours the kitty some milk. The cat is heard purring in a later scene but not actually shown on screen again.
Final Mewsings: Cats know all about unexpected pregnancies.
Many thanks to Brian H. for letting us know about the cat in this film.
