Synopsis: Heartless rich widow Miss Fox (Bette Davis) disappoints a young apartment worker named Eddie (James Congdon) when she not only refuses to help him financially but identifies him as the man who robbed her.
Purr Blur: Miss Fox owns a poodle named Vanessa who Eddie usually takes for a walk. When Eddie is gone, Miss Fox must walk the dog herself. Vanessa insists they go into the alley where Miss Fox was previously mugged. Inside the alley there is a clash of garbage cans which startles Miss Fox. A black cat jumps down from one of the cans and runs away.
