Cat Out of the Bag Alert!  This review contains some spoilers for this film!

Synopsis: Pete Sandich (Richard Dreyfuss) is a risk-taking pilot flying arial drops on forest fires when tragedy tears him away from his girlfriend Dorinda (Holly Hunter) and best friend Al (John Goodman).

Featured Feline: Early in the film Pete is home with Dorinda.  An orange long-haired cat is seen lying on the bed.

The same cat is seen later by the fireplace as Pete takes a phone call.

Later in the film Dorinda is flying behind Al as they approach the Colorado training ground.  The cat is in the plane with her.

When a pilot named Ted (Brad Johnson) bumps into Dorinda again by accident she notes how the cat likes him and that the cat doesn’t usually like people.

Ted picks up the cat and asks what his name is.  Dorinda replies that his name is Linda Blair, which makes Ted laugh.  It’s never explained why the male cat’s name is Linda Blair, although one could guess it might have something to do with throwing up hairballs?

Linda Blair also sits down in front of Pete and meows, which is pretty impressive considering what has happened.

Final Mewsings: Cats are in tune with all planes of existence.
