An Englishman’s Home (1946)

by Ted Davis

Directed by: Richard Massingham

Synopsis: A comforting idealized short feature released post WWII documenting an archetypal Englishman’s home life in just over two minutes.

Kitty Cameo: Mr. Englishman has the devoted wife, the snug and cozy home, the sumptuous meal, his postprandial pipe, the bedtime mug of Horlicks (which this film is basically advertising), and, most importantly, his wire-haired dog and tortoiseshell kitten playing gently together in front of the fireplace.
