Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains spoilers for this episode!
Synopsis: Two pampered cats allow an alley cat into their home; a Canada goose tries to pass himself off as a swan.
Cartoon Cats: The episode begins showing the two cat brothers, Phil (voiced by Phil Matarese) and Mike (voiced by Mike Luciano), left in their New York City apartment by their human owners and planning how to spend their day.
The brothers have a strangely close relationship.
Their planning is interrupted when an orange alley cat knocks on their window and asks if he can come in and use their sandbox. He says he lives next door and has been locked out.
Phil and Mike let the alley cat, whose name is Alex (voiced by Eric André) inside and show him around their home.
Alex is really there to steal whatever he can get his paws on, including the cats’ prescriptions.
Phil and Mike talk Alex into staying for some food and catnip. They use a bong to smoke the catnip, which Alex has never had before.
Alex trips out and has a flashback to when he was a kitten and the only one of his litter not adopted. He was left in an alley to fend for himself.
Alex wants to leave but it turns out Phil and Mike have a sadistic bent. They lock Alex in the “shot box” and threaten him.
Eventually Alex escapes and goes clean, writing a book about the harrowing experience that changed his life.
Final Mewsings: You really have no idea what your cats get up to when you’re not home.
