New Line Cinema
Starring: Mike Meyers, Verne Troyer, Heather Graham
Directed by: Jay Roach
Synopsis: Dr. Evil (Mike Meyers) unfreezes once again and returns to Earth, utilizing a time machine to go back to when Austin Powers (Mike Meyers) was still frozen in order to steal his mojo. Powers then returns to the year 1967 and meets American spy Felicity Shagwell (Heather Graham) who helps him battle not only Dr. Evil but his minions and new sidekick, Mini Me (Verne Troyer.)
Cinema Cat: As in the first film, Dr. Evil is modeled on Bond villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld, and as such in the first film we met Dr. Evil’s cat, Mr. Bigglesworth. Sadly Mr. Bigglesworth only has one very brief scene in this film when Dr. Evil sits down for the first time alongside his small clone Mini Me. Both of them pick up Sphynx cats; the one Mini Me is holding is a Rex kitten.
They interact with the cats for a moment then put them under the table. According to the Austin Powers Wikia page, three Sphynx kittens named Mel Gibskin, Paul Nudeman and Skindiana Jones took on the role as Mini Mr. Bigglesworth. We assume Ted Nude-gent reprised his role as the regular-sized Mr. Bigglesworth.
Final Mewsings: Blofeld might have left his cat behind at the end of some of the Bond movies but at least he kept his cat with him throughout!
