Synopsis: Robyn Hitchcock turns into a cat and then has to figure out how to play a gig.

Featured Feline: In the beginning of the video Robyn drops off wearing his spotted shirt. When he wakes up he has turned into a one-eyed shorthaired blue Scottish Fold cat.

Gillian Welch arrives to rehearse and finds Robyn transformed.

She plays with Robyn a while and they look at the cover of his new album.

Eventually Gillian leaves and Robyn has to go to the club to play a gig.

A bartender pours him a drink and tries to help him get through the awkward night.

A very cute video starring Tubby V. Stardust as Robyn’s alter ego. Tubby belongs to Robyn Hitchcock who is an obvious cat lover, having featured cats in his work before. Tubby’s wrangler on the video was Brandy Campbell.

The kitten featured on the cover of the self-titled CD which features this song was Tiny, a doll-faced Persian who barely lived six months but will always be remembered by Robyn and Emma Swift, his partner.

Final Mewsings: If you have to wake up as something else, be a cat!
