Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: The sheepherdering pig Babe (voiced by Elizabeth Daily) is back. This time a series of misfortunes finds Babe and Farmer Hoggett’s wife Esme (Magda Szubanski) stranded in a big city where they take refuge in a boarding house that caters to oddball animals.
Cat Cattle Call: The Hoggett’s cat Duchess is seen only briefly at the beginning of the film.
Throughout the rest of the movie there are numerous cats, including the choir cats at the boarding house. These cats are heard singing behind a closed door during different sections of the film and are finally seen when the mice sneak under the door to have a peek.
Other cats comes in when Babe opens up the boarding house to the homeless and wayward animals of the city. At one point the cats and dogs start to argue but Babe encourages them to get along.
Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): By far the most notable and adorable of the cats in this film is a tiny hungry kitten (voiced by Katie Leigh). The kitten first says, “I’m hungry!” and then “My tummy hurts!” with awe inspiring cuteness. Most of his lines in the film have to do with him being hungry. Too adorable!
Final Mewsings: City cats love to sing, although they usually do it on backyard fences and not in boarding houses.
