Synopsis: The classic telling of the fairy tale finds Belle (Josette Day) sacrificing herself to the whims of a Beast (Jean Marais) in order to save her father (Marcel André).

Kitty Cameo: Avanant (Jean Marais) is with Belle’s brother Ludovic (Michel Auclair) at a table inside an inn. A longhair black and white cat is sitting on the table.

Desperate for money, Ludovic signs a contract with a moneylender (Raoul Marco), thinking one of his father’s ships has finally come in. The cat moves from the table just before he signs.
