Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains some spoilers for this film!
Synopsis: A frozen segment of The Blob is thawed by an unknowing couple and wreaks havoc on the locals.
Cat Burglar (Scene Stealer): The credits of this movie consist entirely of watching a little ginger tabby kitten running among the plants in an overgrown yard. This is accompanied by a bizarre mix of electronic music and people screaming.
The kitten’s name is Samuel and he belongs to Mariane and Chester Hargis, in whose yard the kitten is cavorting.
The couple have taken the canister with the blob sample out of their freezer and left it on the counter. The kitten comes in through the window (not sure how he managed to get up there!)
Mariane has just been to the grocery store and spots the kitten, then gathers him from the windowsill and carries him to the counter to feed.
She doesn’t seem to know how to hold the kitten properly and has to pull the cat’s claws from her shirt.
She opens a can of sardines for the kitten, who is so hungry he licks the lid as she’s opening it (and no, she didn’t wipe the lid off first!)
Mariane then sets Samuel down on the floor with his food bowl and proceeds to pet him while he’s eating.
Mariane goes into the other room to show her husband Chester the overalls she has made. Samuel continues to eat, not realizing the blob is climbing off the counter.
The blob plops down on the floor in front of the kitten, who is understandably confused.
Kitty Carnage Warning! Unfortunately Samuel becomes the blob’s second victim (it ate a fly moments before) and drags the helpless and crying kitten out through the window.
Final Mewsings: Kittens should let sleeping blobs lie.
