Synopsis: Professional exterminator Alex Mathis (Greg Grunberg) meets his match when a government experiment, an alien / spider hybrid gets loose and starts terrorizing Los Angeles.

Kitty Cameo: One of the first scenes in the film is when Alex is making a call on one of his regular customers, Mrs. Jefferson (Lin Shaye).  She is an older woman who is completely freaked out about a rodent caught in one of Alex’s traps.  Mrs. Jefferson owns a large orange and white cat named Mrs. Butterworth who is on a leash and hisses at Alex when he emerges from beneath the house.

Mrs. Jefferson scolds Mrs. Butterworth, saying she is “Butterworthless” when it comes to catching critters.

Final Mewsings: Cats know when to leave extermination to the professionals.
