by Mark Murton
Also Known As: Biggles
Directed by: John Hough
Synopsis: Present day New York catering salesman Jim Ferguson (Alex Hyde-White) finds himself involuntarily transported back to 1917, where he saves the life of dashing British pilot James “Biggles” Bigglesworth (Neil Dickson) after he is shot down on a photo recon mission. Before he can work out what has happened, Jim is zapped back to the 1986 where he is visited by Biggles’ former commanding officer, William Raymond (Peter Cushing), who informs Jim that he and Biggles are now “time twins”, and together they must fight across time to stop the Germans deploying a revolutionary “sound weapon” that could change the outcome of WWI.
Purr Blur: During the opening credits, as Jim is walking to the entrance to his apartment building after a night out, a black cat is sitting on the concourse.
As Jim enters the building the cat cranes its neck to watch.
After Jim disappears inside Air Commodore Raymond walks towards the entrance as the black cat runs across in the foreground.
Final Mewsings: Films should always make time for a cat scene.
