Cat Out of the Bag Alert! This review contains spoilers for this episode!
Synopsis: Everyone becomes enamored with Manny’s special event guest, travel author Jason Hamilton (Julian Rhind-Tutt) while Bernard (Dylan Moran) finds out he has a new landlord.
Featured Feline: Bernard storms upstairs to have it out with his landlady only to find out the old woman has passed away and left the building to her cat, Mr. Benson. Bernard finds this out when he insists on seeing the owner and the solicitor (Alice Lowe) opens the door to a breadbox to reveal the cat.
Bernard holds out the letter he has received demanding payment and insists he’s not going to pay it.
The solicitor says that legally she has to leave Benson on the property, so Bernard becomes paranoid about the cat.
Bernard reaches the end of his rope when he gets out a super special biscuit to serve to Jason Hamilton only to have Mr. Benson sneak in the window and take it.
Bernard brings in Roland (Ryan Luhning), a professional exterminator, to kill Mr. Benson. Roland doesn’t want to do it but is bribed with a thousand pounds. He and Bernard wait for Mr. Benson to come in the cat door of the upstairs apartment.
Fortunately Roland can’t bring himself to kill Mr. Benson.
Bernard shoots up the apartment, disturbing Jason Hamilton’s presentation and when they return downstairs everyone is gone. Everyone except for Mr. Benson, who changes the slide projector to a picture of a tiger.
Bernard is determined to shoot Mr. Benson and raises the gun. The screen goes black. Mr. Benson must have nine lives because this time Bernard ends up grazing Manny’s head.
Final Mewsings: Your cat landlord is likely to evict you if you try to shoot him.
