Directed by: Jean Negulesco
Synopsis: A Greek woman named Phaedra (Sophia Loren) finds a priceless statue while diving which draws the attention of two men; Victor Parmalee (Clifton Webb) who wants it for selfish reasons and archeologist Dr. James Calder (Alan Ladd) who wants to make sure it stays in Greece.
Purr Blur: In one scene Dr. Calder arrives at Phaedra’s home looking for her. He first meets her little brother Niko (Piero Giagnoni). As they are talking, a tabby cat starts walking by the house.
Dr. Calder then walks over to Dr. Hawkins (Laurence Naismith) who is also waiting for Phaedra with Phaedra’s boyfriend Rhif (Jorge Mistral). The cat walks across the courtyard behind them.
As they continue to talk, the cat turns and walks towards them then disappears.
Final Mewsings: At least cats are shorter than Alan Ladd.
